General Waste and DMR

At Wasteology "We Waste No Waste"

As Wasteology have the company ethic  "We Waste No Waste" it is important to know no matter what waste is collected under our Waste Carrier License we will Recover and Reuse, by sorting the waste and processing the non contaminated waste through our Material Recovery Facility (MRF)  which is based in Wellington Somerset. We source as many recycle solutions as possible for the processed waste.   See our MRF.

A zero waste to landfill service can be provided; this involves the residue left, after your General Waste is treated by our Material Recovery Facility, being taken to an Energy From Waste (EFW) operation. This is where your waste will be incinerated and supply local energy supplies with power being stored.

There are two common waste types for recycling General Waste; which is mixed waste that has not be segregated at source and Dry Mixed Recycling also known as DMR; this is waste free from contaminated wet waste such as food.

Benefits of Using Wasteology for A General Waste Collection

Where as General Waste  recycle targets really depend on the source of waste. For example Restaurants that place food waste in a general Waste collection limited its reuse. In that scenario it would be recommended to have a separate Food Waste Collection that will be 100% recycled with Biodegradable and Anaerobic Digestion solutions. However General Waste is the most popular route for many of our customers and therefore Wasteology work hard to maximise the recoverability of the waste for recycled solutions.
